The healing properties of Gymnema have been known in South Asian countries for over 2,000 years. In Ayurvedic practice, its leaves are used as the most effective means of normalizing metabolic processes. In modern traditional medicine, Gymnema leaf extract has been used as an antidiabetic agent for approximately 70 years.
